Colfy came to live with us when I was working at PetCetera. I had cleaned her cage for 2 weeks and while all the other kittens were going to good homes, this little one with her bowed front legs was going no where. Well I had enough and one day make the decision to bring her home to live with us. She was in pretty rough shape. She had Upper respitory infection and the emergency vet told us that she might not live long. well no one tells me she is going to die after I decide she is going to be my kitten. So I gave her the meds, dipped my finger in water and forced her to drink, kept her warm, bought the stinkiest kitten food i could find ( so she would be able to smell it and want to eat) and loved her back to healthy. It took 2 weeks but she pulled through and started to get bette, but she survived like I knew she would.
I named her after my MMORPG gaming name I use for all my characters when I play on line
games. I started with a Cleric named colfy and I though this name suited this kitten well. After hours of dying in game and trying to be the best cleric ever I felt this name was a name of a warrior and this kitten was a warrior in life.

The name is German meaning for "Little Gremlin" Old folk tale was that cats turn into little gremlins at night and sucked the breath from little children. Not a tale you want to tell a child who thinks monsters live under their beds at night but an old german tale all the same.
Little colfy will always have problems. When she was fixed in May 2008. The vet who did the surgery said she will most likely have lung and hip problems. She was the last to leave the clinic that day because she wasn't coming out of annestetic well. The staff fell in love with her and watched her carefully. Thank you to all the staff at the Spay Clinic here in Edmonton for taking such good care of her.
I guess I should tell you a bit about her history. Colfy's mother was found on the southside of Edmonton under some wooden pallets in a chemical spill after she had given birth to 6 kittens. A man brought the kittens, along with the mother to PetCetera on the southside. where they called 4paws (a locate rescue centre). Mother and 2 kittens surved. What those chemicals were no one knows to this day. They did however effect the kittens at birth and how long they were there for is a guestamation. It is figured they were only 2 days old when they were brought in. Colfy did not have full fur when we got her. She had stringy course fur and in some areas it was patchy. Now she has thick beautiful fur, thanks to a good diet.
She will always be a small cat. she will almost look kitten for the rest of her life. She walks like a pigeon on a downward slant. She can't jump as high as the other cats but she has learned to climb using her claws quite well, Even though we had stairs build expecially for her to climb up to the bed as well as to the couch.
She loves it when you build her pillow forts. we call her the rare cave kitty. Her best friend is a green cheek conure named Ridley and will protect him at all costs. She growls at strange sounds at night and will growl at any new vehicles outside parked in front of our house. Expecially the Fedex truck.
Today we call her Coofie a nickname for Colfy. She is healthy and happy. All her fur has grown in and she is a bit bigger but still looks like a kitten even at 3 years old. She still loves her caves made out of pillows and blanets but her best friend Ridley has moved on in life and is no longer with us.
